This is just a somewhat interesting follow-up. It appears that the history hunters website has now passed into web history: historyhuntersinternational.org/Can't say if they came to their senses, lost interest, or forgot to renew their domain name and will be back to make fools of themselves at another address in the future, but their material is apparently now relegated to the wayback machine.

The History Hunters International have something of a habit of registering blogs at several media and then abandoning them rapidly. They also had a LiveJournal and a tumblr. The latter is a real eyebleeder. He does give a reason for leaving LiveJournal:

That's a very strange article. Why waste over 600 words on a nobody like Atwill? When has he become a scholar, let alone a Biblical scholar?
