Recently I've been reading about subjects that related to the controversy about the so called Low Chronology (redating archaeological finds that were traditionally dated to the 10th c. BC to the 9th c. BC) in Levantine archaeology, so I think it's time for me to look into the cases for and against. Does anybody here know good sources for the discussion (preferably balanced ones in their treatment, or else both pro and con)?

Do you mean the Finkelstein hypothesis? I'd be interested in what you come up with. For me, the hypothesis has become much less likely following the redating of the Thera eruption. This means that we need to find another 120 years in the second half of the second millennium BC. If Finkelstein is right, we need another few generations at the start of the first millennium, which seems unlikely to me. bedejournal.blogspot.de/2015/01/we-know-less-about-ancient-world-than.htmlOn the other hand, if F is only dealing with a floating chronology, he could be right about the relative dates but see his whole floating chronology pulled back a few decades by the Thera eruption redate to put us back on the old absolute dates. Thank you very much to both for the links. I have downloaded Mazar's and Zarzeki-Peleg's papers and will read them shortly.
Yes, Finkelstein's theory is about reanchoring a relative chronology to a later period in written history (some 60 to 70 years later in fact), James. So I'm not sure that the Thera eruption would be that much of a problem to Finkelstein.
