Neil on the resurrected Vridar:
"Whenever criticizing the works of others I habitually bend over backwards to be sure I am fair to the other side and let their own views be understood."
You couldn't write comedy like that if you tried.

James Crossley (arguing for his super-early Mark date): "These things might not indicate much on their own, but cumulatively they make a solid case for an early date." Neil: "So basically, 0 + 0 + 0 = 3, right?"
Bending over backwards to be charitable!

In this bizarre infighting between Artie Ziff, Rook Hawkins, and Vridar, I am reminded of something a professor once said in a class commenting on some equally inane infighting:
Crackpots always eat their own.
Words of wisdom to remember when dealing with mythicists.

Good post, if Godfrey is bragging about his allegedly charitable readings, he should start by taking a example from your blog. The section about naggar is a nice read, too, especially your comment about Casey's method and views. I've noticed a typo in Riesner's name though.

James has complimented me by linking to my article in his latest post, which probably means it will start to receive attention from the usuals.
