RIP That man had been through a lot and deserves the honour more than any politician. The Rev. Billy Graham will lie in honor in the US Capitol rotunda beginning next week, House Speaker Paul Ryan said in a statement on Thursday.

I highly recommend Graham's autobiography "Just as I Am." It is an amazing book--Graham was a keen witted, profoundly decent man who had no patience with racism and was an adviser to presidents. Graham also gave some sermons in very likely places. Somehow he got an speaking engagement at the London School of Economics, a notoriously secular venue. To my surprise, he had a respectable turnout of professors and students, who came, I suppose, to watch the Baptist hick make a fool of himself. The auditorium was tiered, and and just as Graham was due to begin a student at the top of one isle stood up and began imitating a chimpanzee. Graham calmly said "Reminds me of my ancestors." That got a chuckle, but then he said "Of course, my ancestors were British." That brought down the house. I doubt that he brought many souls to Christ that day. But the audience gave him a polite hearing. He was, in my view, a great man.
