Hi James, I don't know if you have answered this somewhere else in the forum but I have noticed that you and a few other website mention that G.A. Wells retracted his belief that Christ was a myth and admitted that there was a historical Jesus. Could you cite where you read this? I am teaching a course with a component that speaks about the Christ Myth and would like to have a reliable source to back up that statement (I found it rather remarkable).

Hi there, Sorry about the delay in replying. It's been a while since I thought much about the Jesus myth. I met GA Wells when I attended a talk he gave in Cambridge way back in 2003, and listened to his views. I briefly wrote them up here: bede.org.uk/gawells.htmAnd while I would hesitate to point to Wikipedia as a source, it does quote from his later books (all rather hard to get hold of these days) where he moderates his views, admitting there was a historical preacher behind Q and that Paul thought Jesus was a real person. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Albert_Wells I hope this helps. Best wishes James
