Good evening!
I'm in a debate with an atheist, who has avoided responding to any of the points I have made against his faulty logic thus far. He has, however, pounced upon my mention of Josephus as a non-Christian witness to Jesus' existence, with a triumphant crow that "most historians agree that his writings about Jesus were a Christian forgery".
I was delighted to find Mr. Christopher Price's scholarly and well-referenced article on this subject on the Bede website pop up first in my Google search when I went to research his claim. (Which I attribute to the intercession of two of my personal patron saints, Mr. C. S. Lewis and Mr. Chesterton!)
I am too ignorant to recognize Mr. Price's name, however, and have been unable to find his bio on the internet. I'd like to be able to present my opponent with his credentials, if challenged.
Who is Mr. Price?
Thank you most sincerely for your work!

Hi Mistfall,
Thanks for your post. Chris is a friend of mine and an amateur researcher on the historical Jesus. However, he is not a professional historian and would never claim to be.
I think your opponent will use this as an excuse to ignore his work, but since Chris has referred to so many other scholars in his essays, you can rely on the references to them, rather than Chris himself, if you think your opponent will use that against him.
The trouble is that since the Jesus Myth is not taken seriously among serious scholars, very few can see the point of taking time to refute it. Indeed, they think that if they do, it will give the mythers legitimacy that they do not deserve. That means that the field is dominated by amateurs, on both sides. It is just the the Jesus Mythers base their ideas on the fringe of the fringe, while people like Chris Price are firmly in the mainstream.
Best wishes
James
