Truly this is progress, and what civilisation is all about!! It certainly brings people with similar obsessions together! Harmless in our case, but not always unfortunately.... On a related matter, I met AC Grayling in the flesh last night at a drinks party. He was kind and charming. I am sure all the people we cross swords with on the net are nice in person in direct proportion to their fierceness in writing. And yes, I did fess up to ACG that we had crossed swords at CiF. Best of all, he's already got my book! Best wishes James

Best of all, he's already got my book! Did you tell him about the short lived 'Golden Grayling' award ? I have to say I was pleasantly surprised when I first saw him speak on youtube as he seemed like a pleasant enough bloke. His writings piss me off though. I suppose in order to build a following in the debate and make yourself relevant you have to come charging in like a bull with a totally uncompromising attitude. I think P Z Myers is similar. He comes across as a total jackass on his blog but in real life he seems to be a fairly softly spoken chap who gets along well with his Lutheran neighbours.

In all fairness, it's hard NOT to notice him. I think that guy comments on every single theology blog out there. I've invented a game now where I check the past years of blogs to see at what point Carr decided to train his ire on that specific site. Looks like James had one a few years back...
That's rather interesting about Grayling, although it sounds par for the course. WL Craig had said that Carrier was very polite in person as well, and as Humphrey says PZ seems pretty soft spoken too, he was as gentle as a lamb in "Expelled." I don't necessarily know if it's about the need to make a name for yourself though, I just think it's the whole matter of feeling like a big man behind the comfort of your keyboard. I'm sure I would be the same way

When they (atheist) are exposed, they also do more propaganda. Talking against church and laying about iit it's there work.
