Carrier's lawsuit has been dismissed in Missouri, with prejudice. Judge could barely have been more scathing: www.dropbox.com/s/cb23xzcay6lr52m/d19bdf67-cec9-4fa3-a68a-cc18031dae42.pdf?dl=0Given the interpretation of the law - which is after all the standard one even though Carrier pretended it didn't apply to him even though his lawyer raised this as an issue three whole years ago in Ohio - it seems very highly likely that the other two courts will throw it out as well. However, I don't think the cases are heard there until the New Year.

There was a hearing in the Minnesota case in September. There has been no ruling yet. It seems "a few months" from the hearing is standard.

Carrier has withdrawn his suits as of November 2019, all sides to pay their own costs. He apparently said it was because it was near Christmas and he was feeling nice (the irony of a Christ mythicist using Christmas season as a pretext for anything is delicious). But the real reason appears to be that it had become clear to him he would not be allowed to take this forward due to the statute of limitations, plus he had been slapped with a counter suit in Arizona which would have been allowed. freethoughtblogs.com/pharyngula/2019/11/25/we-win/And further analysis here: www.patheos.com/blogs/daylightatheism/2019/12/richard-carrier-loses-his-lawsuit-again/I’m afraid the only thing I can conclude from this is that Carrier has utterly destroyed himself. He had no credibility outside a handful of anti-theistic activists at the start of the case, and has now shredded his reputation within that field as well, including with the bizarre affidavits he put in trying to prove he didn’t act strangely or inappropriately - which proved that he did. I imagine from here he will have to get a job, and since he will be unable to find work in teaching or research due to these allegations you wonder exactly what work will be open to him.

Wow, what an utterly humiliating defeat. I wonder how he's going to spin this for his fans? His future will be interesting indeed.
