This is probably a stupid question, but if you're going to place a link in your post, how do you change the name of the link from just the web address to whatever text you want (e.g. "See the article here" where "here" is the name of the link rather than the web address).
Thanks.

Unklee kindly told me, so I'll pass these secrets on! You have to use "post reply" not "quick reply". Use the third button from the left in the bottom row. It gives you ""URL" and "/URL" in square brackets. type in "=" and cut and paste the website inside the first brackets. Then between the sets of brackets type the word. Imagine the parentheses are brackets (URL=http://jameshannam.proboards83.com/index.cgi) Quodlibeta (/URL). This will come out as Quodlibeta . Regards, Colin

On a completely unrelated note....
How do I start a new thread in a forum?

Actually... lots of posting options seem to have disappeared from my console. I can't seem to do anything other than "quick reply"...
Any help?

There should be a small "reply" button about 2/3 of the way across the bottom margin of the last post on a thread.
For a new thread, first open the board you want (History, Christianity, whatever) and the "new thread" button is immediately about the "last post" heading. At least that's where it appears on my screen.
I have noticed, though, that strings of letters seem to randomly disappear when I am typing a reply, only to reappear a few seconds later.
